Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and experienced Year 6 Teacher to join a supportive and dynamic primary school in Camden. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing pupils for their transition to secondary education, delivering an engaging curriculum that ensures academic excellence and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching and Learning:
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in accordance with the national curriculum, with a focus on English, Maths, and Science.
- Prepare pupils for SATs, ensuring targeted interventions for those needing additional support.
- Foster a stimulating classroom environment that promotes active learning and curiosity.
- Assessment and Reporting:
- Regularly assess pupil progress, providing detailed feedback to students and parents.
- Use data to inform planning and address gaps in learning.
- Complete all required reports and documentation in line with school policies.
- Pastoral Care:
- Build strong relationships with pupils, supporting their social and emotional well-being.
- Uphold school policies on behaviour management, creating a safe and inclusive classroom.
- Collaboration and Development:
- Work closely with colleagues to plan cross-curricular activities and share best practices.
- Attend staff meetings, CPD sessions, and contribute to whole-school initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers to support childrens learning.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6, with a strong understanding of SATs preparation.
- Excellent subject knowledge in core curriculum areas.
- A commitment to inclusive education and an ability to differentiate for diverse needs.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate pupils.
- Passionate about teaching, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
